Kyler Murray, quarterback, Arizona Cardinals
While the Cardinals classified Hopkins and Kyler Murray as game-time decisions before Week 9, reports the night before hinted neither would play. Arizona wanted to play it safe with its biggest offensive weapons and that was the right call, especially given their injury histories.
A full week of rest certainly did some good for Murray’s ankle, but he won’t be close to 100% in Week 10. The Cardinals will again list him on the NFL injury report, potentially limiting his participation in practice. While it would be a surprise If Murray doesn’t face the Panthers in Week 10, his status is worth monitoring.
Chase Edmonds, running back, Arizona Cardinals
If playing without a starting quarterback and wide receiver wasn’t bad enough, things got worse for Arizona. Chase Edmonds suffered an injury on the first play of Week 9 and the prognosis isn’t good. According to Ian Rapoport, Edmons suffered a high-ankle sprain and a stint on short-term IR is very possible. With Edmonds sidelined multiple games, James Conner (11 touchdowns) will become Arizona’s featured running back.
James Conner who currently leads the league in touchdowns could be a good bet to have the most rushing touchdowns. He is favored in short-yardage situations and has an excellent skill set close to the goal-line.
Trevor Lawrence, quarterback, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville held its breath early on Sunday when rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence left the game with an ankle injury, needing assistance exiting the field. He later returned to action and test results on Monday determined he avoided something major. Lawrence is dealing with a low-ankle sprain, per Ian Rapoport, and will be limited in practice this week. While that means he’ll appear on the NFL injury report, his availability for Sunday isn’t at risk. After a surprising victory against the Buffalo Bills, it would have been awful to see Trevor Lawrence limited to the sideline for an extended period of time.
James Robinson, running back, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson (heel) avoided a serious injury in Week 8, but it quickly became clear that it would sideline him for some time. The Jaguars ruled him out the night before facing the Buffalo Bills, wanting to protect their best offensive weapon. Robinson’s participation in practice will be monitored in Week 10 and it’s a safe bet he’ll be on the injury report into the weekend. For now, consider him questionable to face the Indianapolis Colts. In the situation where both James Robinson and Trevor Lawrance suit up an upset against Colts could be on the cards.
