The Cleveland Browns are a professional American football team based in Cleveland Ohio. Named after original coach and cofounder Paul Brown, they compete in the NFL as a member club of what is known as American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and Pittsburgh Steelers are Cleveland’s major divisional rivals.
The Cleveland Browns play their home games at FirstEnergy Stadium, which opened in 1999. Browns headquarter located in Berea, Ohio. The Browns are unique as being the only franchise of the NFL that do not have a logo on their helmets. Instead, they have two stripes from the front to the back. The Browns club colors are brown, orange and white. In the case of similar colors, Browns can choose between three different uniforms.

Since 1999, the Browns have struggled to find success. They have had only three winning seasons with the last one coming last season. Last season included a playoff appearance for the first time since 2002. Since 2000 the Cleveland Browns have only won less than a third of their games in total. The franchise has also been noted for a lack of stability with head coaches and an NFL record of 30 different starting quarterbacks since 2000.
The most visible Browns fans are those that can be found in the Dawg Pound. Originally the name for the bleacher section located in the open (east) end of the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium, the current incarnation is likewise located in the east end of their home stadium First Energy Stadium and still features hundreds of orange and brown clad fans sporting various canine-related paraphernalia. The fans adopted that name in 1984 after members of the Browns defense used it to describe the team’s defense.
Retired cornerback Hanford Dixon, who played his entire career for the Browns (1981–1989), is credited with naming the Cleveland Browns defense ‘The Dawgs’ in the mid-1980s. Dixon and teammates Frank Minnifield and Eddie Johnson would bark at each other and to the fans in the bleachers at the Cleveland Stadium to fire them up. It was from Dixon’s naming that the Dawg Pound subsequently took its title. The fans adopted that name in the years after. Due to this nickname, since the team’s revival the Browns have used a bulldog as an alternate logo.
Browns had a fantastic offseason, followed by a consensus top 5 draft class. Looking at the Browns roster top to bottom it´s hard to find any real weaknesses. Defensively they added Jadeveon Clowney to play opposite of All-Pro Myles Garrett. I expect Garrett to have a monster season and be in the DPOY conversation. The Browns also added a lot of pieces to their secondary headlined by safety John Johnson. Johnson is an elite cover safety. They added Troy Hill who can cover the slot and play outside, Hill is coming off an excellent season last year that saw him make a ton of plays.
The Browns also have Grant Delpit on the roster who was the 44th pick in last year’s draft but missed his entire rookie season. He was my favorite safety prospect in the last year’s draft and could be what the Cleveland Browns are missing and could have a huge impact. I loved the Greg Newsome pick. He has all the elite traits you look for and with the amount of depth the Browns possess he can develop behind their starters.
Offensively they are even more loaded. PFF graded their O-line as the best in the NFL. They are returning all of their starters. They boast the best 1-2 punch of any backfield as well in my opinion. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are both elite RB´s who compliment each other perfectly. Their pass catchers are also elite with OBJ who is undoubtedly one of the premier outside WRs, Jarvis Landry who is a very reliable slot receiver, and Rashard Higgins who showed a really nice connection with Baker Mayfield. Austin Hooper compliments the WR squad as a solid tight end. With such a solid roster Cleveland Browns should be able to push for a division title and a playoff run.
