Maine sports betting is now legal as of Friday at 9 a.m. Local time, all qualified players (21 and older) in the state could place legal wagers. The state statute, signed by Gov. Janet Mills in May last year, grants Maine’s four Indigenous tribes sole authority over online sports betting.

The four tribes support DraftKings and Caesars. Caesars has reached an arrangement with the Maliseet, Micmac, and Penobscot Tribes. In contrast, DraftKings Sportsbook has reached an agreement with Maine’s Passamaquoddy Tribe.
The law also allows retail sports betting in Maine’s two commercial casinos and five off-track gambling locations.
Caesars Sportsbook and DraftKings are Now Available in Maine
Caesars Sportsbook and DraftKings both announced their presence in Maine.
Maine players may earn Caesars Rewards with every wager, as Caesars announced on X. At over 50 Caesars Rewards locations, their loyalty program covers eating, hotel stays, and event tickets. According to the operator’s introductory promotion, “Bet $50, get $100 in bonus bets.” DraftKings’ announcement reads, “Maine, the wait is over!” and offers in its bonus offer, “Bet $5, get $200.”
In a Tuesday news release, DraftKings CEO Jason Robin stated that the company’s primary aim in Maine is to attract customers:
“Building a relationship with the Passamaquoddy Tribe is an excellent chance for DraftKings as we look to bring safe and legal sports betting to customers in Maine.” We look forward to continuing our work with the Maine Gambling Control Unit as we acquire the Passamaquoddy Tribe’s official mobile sports betting operator and launch in our industry-leading 25th state.”
DraftKings offers in-game, pre-match, and in-house same-game-parlay betting options.
